I am a master's student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI. I specialize in database development and I am open to new experiences. Currently looking for an internship or a full-time position.

Aloha! I am Frendy, a master's student in electrical engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI.

I enjoy exploring and succeeding with challenges outside my area of expertise; whether via hackathons or personal projects. My goal is to build and provide products that will help and impact us positively!

Kumu is a two-part system for efficient, user-friendly data reporting and visualization for native Hawaiian plants.
ITS Security
Modern streamlined process of registering and checking in to ensure the safety of building residents.
HECO Rewards
A gamified mobile application where users can provide information on defective EV charging stations to HECO. Includes predictive forecasting and a hardware section.
Covid-19 Detection
A Covid-19 machine learning detection algorithm that uses a FCN model to be able to classify CT-scans of lungs into Covid, Healthy, and Other.

LEAD SQL DEVELOPER
@ STAR
June 2018 - Present

Managing and leading the back-end team of 7 to maintain and develop BALANCE, an appointment website for all students and advisors at any 10 campuses of the University of Hawaiʻi System.

Team Lead that participates in weekly meetings to discuss new features and currents bugs for STAR Balance.

Creating and maintaining MS Access interfaces for administrators for the different products of STAR.

Main tools: REACT, MS Access, and MS SQL Server.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER INTERN

December 2019 - May 2020

Created a Kiosk Check-In app for the animal quarantine station for the state of Hawaii that consists of a Front-Display and Queueing system.

Lead Full Stack Developer of a team of 7.

Developed all Back-End, and the skeleton for the Front-End design.

Main tools: Angular, C#, MS SQL Server, and Typescript.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Creating and developing python scripts for GPS spoofing and controlling the movement of unmanned aerial vehicles for cybersecurity purposes.

Main tools: ArduPilot, C, DroneKit, MavLINK, and Python.

TEACHING ASSISTANT

Managed and taught weekly labs for object-oriented programming in C++ and Introduction to programming in C.

Assisted and mentored 26 students in groups and on an individual basis.
